What is LuckDraw?
a. Our Mission Â
At LuckyDraw, we offer our users to play the simplest variation of Lottery in a safe, secure, fair and reliable manner. Â
b. Our Vision Â
We believe the world should be more equitable than it currently is. For anyone to have a decent shot at life; the current social structures, incumbent powers, invisible brokers and government policies are biased towards rich and powerful and the society at large prevents normal citizens from making it big. The normal citizens make up 99% of the world’s population. Many things are broken.Â
We believe a lot of dis-proportionate success accumulated in this world is a factor of extreme cases of plain random luck. Not to trivialise hard work, but we see all the time that out of thousands of people who work equally hard; if not harder than others, a handful get lucky in life and make it big. We believe a simple product which accentuates plain random luck to re-distribute wealth would be one of the many possible solutions to an impossible problem of inequity. A user invests small amounts of money (what you can afford to absolutely lose without remorse) to have a probable chance of multiplying it by a large factor which comes in from money pooled in by other users. This is our long-term vision for LuckyDraw.
Is LuckyDraw legal in my country?
Gambling is legal in many countries, legality is in grey area in others and ofcourse strictly illegal in others. We operate freely in countries where it is legal and where legality is in grey area. We use an IP block in countries which strictly prohibit gambling. Some of the prohibited countries are USA, France, The Netherlands, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten and sanctioned countries. We do not take any responsibility for the legal cause of our game in your country. This is the sole responsibility of the player.
Where is the company of LuckyDraw registered?
We will register a company in Curaçao which will hold the initial online gaming license.
The Curaçao license will provide access to most jurisdictions. It restricts betting in the USA, France, The Netherlands, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St. Eustatius, St. Maarten and sanctioned countries.
The requirements to get the license are multiple, we are discussing with the licensor on how to apply them. Currently, we are permissionless and only adhere to IP Blocks in countries where it is completely illegal to operate.

What is a “contest” on LuckyDraw?
A contest is one round of LuckyDraw(TM) game where “N” players (eg. N = 100) put in money to create a Prize Pool by buying Tickets to participate.
How many types of contests are there on LuckyDraw?
A player can carefully choose a contest based on the risk-reward analysis. This can be analysed by looking at the %Chance label on the contest card. If you see carefully, contests are categorised into TWO types:
a.You Only Live Once (YOLO) - These type of contests have high risk and the rewards on winning are the highest across all contest types. The %Chance of these contests range between 1% to 30% i.e. For an example, if the %Chance is 30% then 30% of the purchased tickets win non-zero cash prizes in these contests. This contest type is more suitable for the risk-tolerant players.
b. You Only Die Once (YODO) - These type of contests have considerably lower risk and the rewards on winning are also comparatively lower. The %Chance of these contests is between 50% to 70% i.e. For an example, if the %Chance is 50% then 50% of the purchased tickets win non-zero cash prizes in these contests. This contest type is more suitable for the risk-averse players.
What is the meaning of “Prize Pool” in a contest?
A prize pool is calculated by multiplying total number of purchased tickets with Price of an individual Ticket i.e. # of purchased Tickets x Ticket Price. Please learn more about Prize Pool here.
What is the meaning of “%Chance” in a contest?
%Chance means the percentage of total purchased tickets that will win a prize in that contest. For an example, if a contest has 100 purchased tickets then a 30% under the %Chance label on contest card means 30% of 100 tickets will win cash prizes i.e. 30 tickets.
What is the meaning of “Ticket Price” in a contest?
The ticket price is the price of a single ticket in any contest. The ticket price may vary contest to contest.
What is the meaning of “Maximum Tickets” in the contest page?
The maximum tickets label on a contest page means the maximum number of tickets that can be purchased in a given contest. This number does not change in a given contest.
What is the meaning of “Tickets Left” in the contest page?
The tickets left label on the contest card means the total number of remaining tickets in a contest that can still be purchased. This number decreases as more and more tickets are purchased and eventually becomes 0 if all the tickets are purchased in a given contest.
What is the meaning of “Time Left” in a contest?
The time left label on the contest card means the time left till the contest ends. Players can purchase tickets in a contest until this timer hits zero.
How many tickets can I purchase in a single contest?
A player can purchase more than 1 ticket in a particular contest. The maximum allowed changes from contest to contest but can be in the range of 5 to 10 tickets (or more) per connected player wallet.
How does the prize distribution work in LuckyDraw?
Please click on any contest card to view the prize distribution chart inside. Lets say 100 players buy 1 lottery ticket each in a contest; so there are 100 unique lottery tickets participating in one contest. Here is how the game works:
- The game mechanics is a classic game of chance example. Once the Contest is closed after either time runs out or maximum tickets of the contest gets sold out; the LuckyDraw game contract interacts with ChainLink VRF () contract and randomly draws (chooses/picks) 1 ticket out of the pool of 100 tickets and declares it as the winner of 1st Prize. Since getting chosen in 1st Draw has least probability (1/100; to put it differently, 1st Draw is the luckiest of all draws); this ticket gets rewarded the highest cash prize i.e. 1st Prize. Then the game contract repeats this process of drawing (choosing/ picking) tickets one by one sequentially. So for the 2nd Draw, it picks 1 Ticket out of the pool of remaining 99 Tickets (the 1st Prize is NOT included in this pool) with 1/99 probability to declare it as the winner of the 2nd prize and so on. Verifiable Random Function. This process is repeated until the Prize Pool is zero
- Another important thing to note in Prize Distribution is the Prize Slabs beyond the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Prize. If you look carefully in the table (please use the slider to see the change of prize distribution by increasing the # of purchased tickets of a contest) you can see that most times 4th, 5th and beyond prize amounts could be given to multiple tickets. So if the table says 4th Prize ; 50 DAI ; 5 Players i.e. all 5 players will get 50 DAI each and so on.
- In summary, as the # of draws increases, the size of prizes decreases. The luckier (getting picked in the early draws) you are, the more money you win.
- You can always move the slider in the prize distribution chart to see what is the cash prize amount at different number of tickets sold in a given contest.
The contest I purchased tickets for has now been cancelled. What happens to my money?
Sometimes, due to unforseen circumstances like not enough liquidity (less pool prize) or technology disruptions a contest may be cancelled. Under these circumstances, 100% of the value of purchased tickets will be auto-refunded to the Winnings wallet. A player can play again with that money or withdraw at their discretion.
